What I Wore for a Haute Night Out

Date night on a hot summer evening called for me to glam it up for a night of dinner and dancing. I found this Buffalo David Bitton Rulina Striped Maxi Dress at The Edge Dept. at Dillard’s on sale. I loved the fit, the color, and especially the flower cut-outs on the bottom ruffle of the dress.

I already had all the accessories for this outfit in my closet. I picked up the platform wedges from Nordstrom Rack, the Hobo International clutch was from Haute Look, and the jewelry was from Francesca’s.

Just a few hours before the big night out, it hit me that I did not have a bra that I could wear under this strappy, low-cut, racerback maxi dress. I did not want to go back to the mall, too much concrete for my feet. A rheumanista (defined as a Fashionista with Rheumatoid Arthritis) has to pace herself for the whole day. I didn’t want to use up my “feet mojo” on shopping when I needed it for dancing in my wedges.

I was in luck because across the street I saw the Soma Intimates boutique, an offshoot of Chico’s. They had the most amazing Multi-way Plunge Bra! Notice that it barely shows under the dress’ tiny straps. I love it so much I wrote a blog post about the bra!

The Zoya nail polish on my toes is from their Beach and Surf Collection. I had planned to paint my nails in ‘Wednesday‘, but time got away from me so I only got the pedi done. No mani.

One of my fashion resolutions is to only buy what I love. The theory is that if I love everything in my closet, it will be easy to pull a whole look together. This outfit is a look I really love!
